This is a technique that consists in cancelling a character’s dash animation so that you can act freely without having to perform a Dash Attack or Dash Grab. In Smash Ultimate, you can cancel your Dash with anything you want, whether it’s a jump, a crouch, a shield or an attack. It is also possible to turn around and to suddenly change direction.  There is also an advanced technique, the Pivot Cancel, which allows you to launch an attack while sliding to extend the range of your attack.
