Features
Unlike Marth, Lucina doesn't have a tipper on her sword's tipper, which means that her whole sword deals the same amount of damage and has the same kill power. This explains why Lucina is a a more constant and regular character than Marth. However, her lack of tipper means that she won't be able to kill as fast as Marth
Best moves
DOWN TILT
This is a really safe move that is simply not punishable unless your opponent parry and still. This moves gives Lucina a real field dominance, her down tilt is her best move, it’s simple at that ! At high percent, it gives a tech chase situation and the down Smash is guaranteed at the ledge after using the down tilt. To sum up, this move gives a lot of kill situations.
BACK AIR
It is an unavoidable move in Lucina’s arsenal. It is an excellent move to kill her opponent, but also to keep pressuring your opponent shield when landing. This move can also be combined with the neutral B to break your opponent’s shield because using back air will make your enemy shield. The back air has a good amount of range horizontally and vertically, so it’s a strong tool to edgeguard.
DOWN B
Her counter is also excellent, especially when edgeguarding because it allows you to push back your enemy or even to kill half of the roster at least. Be careful although not to use this attack in the neutral game.
FORWARD AIR
This attack allows her to keep a good distance while not letting her enemy coming too close. The Fair is the attack to combo. At mid pourcent, it can be followed up by a neutral air or it can give tech chase situations. At high pourcent, it’s really useful to edgeguard.
NEUTRAL B
This attack can be really interesting because it can break your opponent’s shield. We can even orientate it in order to shield poke or to eject your enemy more easily. Be carefoul though, this attack is pretty slow, making of it a high risk high reward option.
NEUTRAL AIR
This aerial can confirm on a smash around 80 pourcent, explaining why this attack is really dangerous at high pourcent. This move allows you to space, to hit backward, to cross up while being safe on a shield. In short, it’s one of the best attacks to approach and to put some pressure on your opponents.
