SDI ou Smash Directional Influence

It is a technique that consists in influencing the direction you are sent after getting hit by a multi-hit. In order to do so, you have to perform an attack with the c-stick while you are being hit by at least the second hit of the opponent’s attack.

Sharking

Action that consists in attacking your opponent from below the stage.

Small jump that is performed by lightly pressing the jump button or pressing two jumps button at the same time. This allows you to approach an opponent faster and makes you more dangerous.

Using the stage to send your opponent into the void, generally by using an improbable angle in order to prevent your opponent from getting back on stage.

lt is deliberately running away from all fight and all confrontation by staying as far as possible from your opponent in order to stay invulnerable as much as possible. It is a technique that is generally used in order to let the time fly and to win thanks to a Time-Out.

Lag at the beginning of an attack and the time between when you pressed the attack button and the moment the attack will inflict damage.

A life in Smash. Generally a Smash Bros. Ultimate competition will let you start each match with three stocks.

Super Armor

A character that possesses Super Armor on one of his attacks can achieve his move even if the opponent hits him while he is preparing a move. For example, if Bowser starts his Forward Smash animation, even if you hit him before he touches you, he will still continue his attack and you will be able to savour all of his high quality Forward Smash in your gums.

Sweet Spot

In opposition of the « Sour Spot », the « Sweet Spot » designates the area of a move with the best hitbox possible. This will be the hitbox that will deal the more damage or project the farthest on a given move.
